IDAT209 - Stonehouse - Data Stream

After figuring out what data i wanted to project, my next step is to figure out what data i will actually use.

Like i said in the previous post there are quite a few different websites that provide data for crime in the Plymouth area. However the only set of data i found was on the following link.

http://maps.police.uk/view/devon-cornwall/ -
As you can see from the image above you can select any location in Plymouth and view the monthly figures. You can download the exact figures in a .csv (opens in Excel) file format by clicking here - http://maps.police.uk/csv/devon-cornwall/plymouth/plymouth-1/stonehouse.csv. This data also shows the different types of crime commited.

The next step of this is to determine which data i could use for my projection stream.

Ive determined i have 3 options. The first option is to use the data in the .csv file and visualise it, the projection would use the individual crime data and the higher the volume of that type of crime, the more something would appear on the projection.
The second option is to use the data on the website, and use the average amount of crime for each month and visualise the data in a similar way to the 1st option.
The third option would be very similar to the second option, however instead of using the average amount of crime for each month, i would take the monthly figures and figure out the average daily amount of crime and then visualise that.
