Another IDAT106 Update

This new post is another update for IDAT106.

Below this post are:

IDAT 106 Update

Here is my update for IDAT106 for this week. Below are some of the images i have produced for my tasks for the week. I have decided to upload all the work i have done so far on this project.

This is the original set of photo's which have all been numbered -


This is the flow of the conversation, each colour represents a different subject.


This is the volume of the conversation, the thicker the line, the louder the volume of the conversation.
This is all of the above 3 images put together.


This is the original photo's with the cast that i made put over the top of the body part i chose, the knee.


This image is just the casts in place without showing the photo's.


This is the casts image without photo's but with the conversation and volume images added on top of it.

This image is all of the notations and the original photo's put together, so its got the cast, the volume and the conversation as well as the photo's.

As you can see i have built up quite a lot of different notations which i feel has let me create a good project, the next stage for me to do is the final stage where i take all of the casts in the image and put them together to create a proper time based drawing.

IDAT 107

This post is my post for my work of IDAT 107. Which is Production for Art & Technology. So far i have done some work to do with colours, Typograthy, layout, textures and some other random stuff. Below are the different pieces of work with a title and description on.

For this piece of a work, i was asked to take a photo of a natural texture, and then using some text that i had to write explaining the texture, position it to follow the lines of the texture so that when the image is deleted it still looks like the original texture. Quite difficult!



This piece is to do with experimenting with colours.

For this piece i was asked to take a photo of my hand and then write a autobiography on it using 30 and 45 degrees lines on it.
Unfortunately due to this blogging site being rubbish i have not been able to upload some of the images i have done, if for some reason you need to view these extra images please contact me. Not like you will need to though

First weekly update

This post is going to be a regular post from now on...

this is going to be my weekly update, in it i will include what i have done throughout the week, what work i have done and what I'm got to do the next week. So....

Basically this last week has been the same as always, going to lectures, coming home and cooking, and then sleeping. Thats with a few details missing out.
The highlight of my week came at the weekend, me and two of my flat mates went back home to Truro to surprise my best mate, worked a treat as well, we avoided him all night and then popped up in the local nightclub.

This week i have done a lot of work for once, mostly for IDAT 106. Below is the work that i have done this week.


This is my project for IDAT 106. Basically me, Luke and Scott had to get together to take photo's of each other in a picnic environment. So i took 104 photo's of Scott, which was FUN! There will be more on this next week.















In IDAT 107 i had to learn typography, which i already knew. So i played around with that for some time creating images with words.

In SOFT 131's practical this week we had to create some websites using VB script. That was quite fun as i have never done VB script, its very similar to the other languages i know so i found it quite easy.

In IDAT 101 we did some strange things, including Chinese whispers and other random games, basically this was to help us learn to communicate and understand some stuff about communication.

and finally in IDAT 108 we didn't have a lecture because it was replaced by a research session, where we learnt how to use the online library catalogue and how to do research.

Next week i think is going to be a very very busy week, mainly because i have to do some more work for my IDAT 106 project as well as doing a presentation on monday for IDAT 108.

Bus Station

This is my 2nd post on this blog, below are some of the pictures that my group partner, Luke Best, took of our chosen destination for our IDAT101 projects, the Plymouth city center bus station. We chose this area because every time we look in, walk through or get a bus from, there is always something interesting going on. Whether it's a couple of homeless people having an argument or a O.A.P falling over, it always makes us look on with interested faces.

First ever post

Wow!

So much to put in here, so little space.

Well i spose i better introduce myself, my name is Garry Barter, im 19 and from Truro, Cornwall. I currently am studying at the University of Plymouth.
I have many interests, including football and computers. My interest in computers is the reason for this blog.

This blog is here to basically show off my work, that includes work i do at uni and external private work.

At University i am currently a 1st year studying Bsc Digital Arts & Technology, ive only just started the course, so far so good though. I was at uni last year, but that didn't work out as i didn't enjoy the subject. I was studying for a Bsc in Web Applications Development.
